“Tremendos tortazos” is a young adult story written by Pedro Martínez Canut.
Once again, Pedro trusted me to bring his characters to life. I had total freedom to choose scenes, style and composition of the illustrations. I am very grateful to him for that.
The protagonist is a very bright and charismatic boy, so the illustration style I chose is colorful and fresh to reflect Miguel’s personality.
“My name is Miguel, I am nine years old and I am learning Japanese. My father is a very important doctor. He says he is number one in the world. But when they ask me at school what his specialty is, I just tell them that he is a doctor and that’s it. Because how can I tell them that he treats people who do not stop doing that, flatulence or farts, as he calls them?”
